About

My story

I was born and raised in Hungary, spent half of my adolescence in Algeria, and moved to the US to attend graduate school. As an educator, I have been a professor and a public school teacher. I devotedly rescue cats and dogs. Blessedly, I am partnered with someone who is on board with having lots of animals live with us. My passions are working with visiting therapy animals and dancing.

My background

My first degree was an MA in French. My second was an MA in American Studies. Only then did I switch to political science. I co-edited a book that I also contributed chapters to, while still in graduate school. Over half a dozen peer-reviewed articles and two single-authored monographs have my name on them.  I write and edit comfortably both in social sciences and humanities, gender studies and cultural studies. You can see my publication record on Orcid at https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9606-7645 As an advocate and activist, I have been working on social justice issues and won a local award for my work in 2020. I gained project management experience while working for a direct mail company during the 2022 election cycle. I am currently involved locally as one of the admins of the Human Rights St Joe page on Facebook. You can check out the page here.
